While I was in Lima, I checked the surf report for up north, and it looked like the day we were arriving was going to be one of the biggest days. Chicama is a world class spot, but it needs swell. Like my Punta Roca’s session earlier, I was looking for the Chicama session that topped all others. This was that session.
I got my longest wave of my life, that according to Google Earth was 700 + yards. The stories of your legs hurting, because the wave is so long, are true. That was only my longest, I had many other super long ones. It was like a cycle, catch incredibly long wave, walk up the point, repeat. It was just us, and 3 others. Two of the older guys had a boat, that they got on when their ride was over. Right back up the point, with no walking. Chicama is a world class surf spot
