This year was a Puemape year in that we surfed it more than anyplace else. It was great to be back, and while the town seems bigger, the long rides seemed the same. One big difference was a local kid named Walter. He ripped it up, and his local knowledge paid off. Big steep cutbacks, amazing floaters, and incredibly long rides made me appreciate his talents. However, I was jealous that he called Puemape and it’s waves home. While probably not as good as some previous years, Puemape still delivered with long, fun waves.
