I did it all for “Las Olas”

My Peru Surf Adventure started with the call of the waves. Year after year, in the back of my mind, the waves were calling me.  Calling me to share the story of unridden perfect waves just rolling by as you paddle out. Calling me to think of all the miles and miles of perfect “A” frames breaking along the beaches with no one out. Calling me to share my fortune with my friends, who keep coming back for the waves. Calling me to recall all the 1 minute + rides that I have year after year, and left wondering how long was my longest wave. Calling me to be thankful to God for his creation of the ocean, the waves, and blessings that allow me the opportunity to surf Peru for 10 years straight. In the end, this 10 year accomplishment, is because of the waves.

Peru Crew 2019

As it seems to be every year, we had the veterans joined by some new comers!! Out of 10 years, Erwin leads the pack with his 7th trip. Tom has made it for 6 years, Bryan for his 4th, and Jeff S for his third. Newcomers this year were Mike, John R., Rolf, Jeff H. (Surfer of the trip), and John. I have known both Jeff H, and Rolf since childhood. Each year I bugged them to go. I was happy that they joined us this year.

Game Changer

Last year Tom and I split the cost for a Drone. Tom brought it down for Miguel, our photographer, who paid us. To say it is a game changer is an understatement. The unique perspective really does a good job of capturing the essence of surfing. Here is some of the best footage from 2019…
