One of the most rewarding things about my Peru surf trips, is all the people who have returned.  This years group was made up of all Peru veterans.   Matty was on his third trip down.   Justin returned this year for the second time.   Tom returned for his 3rd trip.   Bryan returned for his second time, and Dave was the seasoned veteran on his 4th trip down.   I like to think that the call of the waves is what is bringing them back down.

June seems to be a great time to go.   We timed it perfectly for the 1st half of the trip, as a  big swell hit the Peruvian coast.   Another plus was that the water this year was super warm, due to the El Nino.   Wore a spring, but could have gotten away going bareback.   It was also hot, but not the stifling heat you feel in other months.  I would definitely return in June.

I also want to thank the many friends I have made in Pacasmayo.   I may only see you once a year, but you treat me like family.   This year we played an amazing soccer game versus our Peruvian friends.  (Seeing four 50+ year olds chasing a soccer ball was pretty funny)  On our last day, we had a BBQ.  The food was incredible thanks to the fantastic cooking of Jose Luis.   The kindness, and hospitality of everyone was truly amazing.
