When I first arrived, I went to one of my favorite rights, Punta Rocas. It was pretty big, and I caught some fun large waves. However, I was a little tired from the plane ride the night before, and this is not the place to be weak. I got thrown around like a rag doll on some of waves, stretched at every joint in my body as I went through the washer machine effect, and on one got pushed down pretty deep that it took awhile to get to the surface. I surfed twice, and was welcomed back to Peru by a strong, powerful wave. Being my first day, I was glad to see that the swell was there to greet me. I want to go back, and catch one of those super sized outsiders, but I will get a few days of surfing in, before hitting Punta Roca’s.
