If you follow my blog, you know that I visit Punta Rocas every time I come to Peru. You also know that I never have caught it, where all the elements came together. This time was different. It was big, I was surfing well, and I caught a lot of waves. My first day it was an easy 3 feet overhead, if not bigger. Being crowded, I sat on the inside. I did not catch any of the super big bombers, but the ones I did catch were big enough. Sitting on the inside, I was able to pick off wave after wave. The first half hour on the first day was like a merry go round. Catch a wave, ride it in, paddle back out, catch another wave. Too much fun. I surfed Punta Rocas Solo on my first and second day in Lima. I also returned with my friends when we came back from Pacasmayo. The nice part was while I got worked in this extremely powerful wave, I did not get hurt, held under for a long time, and managed to stay out of other surfers way.
