El Faro – Pacasmayo 13

One Wave, one minute.

El Faro.  Can I call it paradise?  To me it comes pretty close.   I guess the secret is out. This year had the most people out in the water.  This is great for the city of Pacasmayo, but the selfish part of me wishes that it had been like previous years, where the crowd was a lot thinner.   One new thing this year was the boat driven by Marco.  It was a life saver, especially when you are catching 400 yard rides.  Ride the wave, wait for the boat, get picked up and taken to the point.  Worth every penny of the 50 soles it cost.   I had some great waves out here.  It was big, long waves, and super fun.   Like my brother said “Not a lot of quantity, but a lot of quality”  On our last day, it was just my brother, myself, and one other guy.  A lot of quantity, and quality.  The frosting on the cake of another trip to paradise.

I also want to talk about the great friends I have made in Pacasmayo.  Since this was my 4th trip in a row, my Pacasmayo friends were welcoming, and treated my brother and I like family. We even got invited to a birthday party for some food, beer and dancing.  The people of Pacasmayo are amazing.  Friendly, caring, and helpful.  I got sick from some bad food in Lima, and they all went out of their way to make sure I was OK.  Gracias mi amigos.
