Cerro Azul 17

This year our first surf session was at Cerro Azul.   When we first pulled up, I was really disappointed because it looked pretty flat.   It must have been a lull between sets, because as we got out into the water, there were shoulder high sets, with a few bigger ones.    It was super fun, with some really long waves.  A nice clean face, that was both workable, and long.   My “Trace” recorded one wave that was 384 yards long.   (I had purchased my Trace specifically for Peru)  Considering my longest wave in California was 242 yards, I was blown away.   Little did I know that this was just the beginning of some  super long waves.     One thing I love about Cerro Azul is how easy it is to get out.   Catch a super long wave, walk up the beach, then right back out to the peak.   Both Tom and I had a great time, and it was a great beginning to a great trip.
