This year I decided to stay in Cerro Azul for 3 days. I got a room at Hotel Juanito, which is right on the beach. The room was small, but I could not argue with the location. Right out my window, I had a 5 star view of the point. The only bummer with the hotel was the food. Both my friend Raul and I got sick after eating lunch the first day. Also the first two days, the waves were too big, and not wrapping around the point like they had done in the past. I was about to give up on Cerro Azul, and never come back. I woke up the 3rd day, the swell had died, and the point was firing like I remember it. Got a lot of good waves that morning. I will be back, but won’t be eating at Hotel Juanito.
